help ripping vocals?

just wondering what programs are good for ripping vocals from tunes?

A lot of times it's difficult to extract the vocals from tunes. Most vocal extraction software simply flips on channel of the stereo sound, and then mixes it down to mono, which basically leaves you with whatever was panned in the center. This doesn't really work well.

What the real remixers do is go find what's called Acapellas. Those are the original vocal tracks from the studio. Not sure how legal that is, but there are lots of them out there.
