Anyone bought a Pro Tools system recently?

Here's the thing: I am desperate to have Soundtoys' Phasemistress, but $245 is way over my budget. But they have a special offer: if you bought a Pro Tools system within the last 30 days, Phasemistress costs only $99 (there should be a coupon with a code in the package). So I was wondering if someone has such a coupon and is not using it (offer expires April 31).
(also posted this in marketplace, wasn't sure what would be the best forum topic)

This is a stoopid question. At this point...you might as well crawl onto the developer's porch and cry to him about it.

FYI, I did cry to the developers about it, but haven't heard back yet. Could you explain why this is a stupid question? When I purchased my Pro Tools system, it contained several coupons which I never redeemed...

I take it you bought an M-Box rather than a mix farm?
Not many people here own them (as opposed to use them)as this is an open-standards plug-in forum, rather than a propriatory systems forum. So your chances are quite limited.
BTW, how are you faring with the set-up?

Indeed, I bought an M-Box. My old G4 was not too happy with it, so I had to replace it for a G5, which explains why my budget is tight right now. The learning curve was steep, and I still know only 25% of what is possible, but I am very happy with it (better sound than Reason 2.5, more flexibility than Tracktion 1).Bunnyboy wrote:I take it you bought an M-Box rather than a mix farm?

That's ok, but on days like that you should consider changing your salutation to "war!" instead of "peace!"

If it's pro-tools, you got to call it a 'rig' otherwise you'll look like a right c**t in front of your fellow pros.

You'll look like a bigger one if you attempt to call your M-Box a "rig"!donkey tugger wrote:If it's pro-tools, you got to call it a 'rig' otherwise you'll look like a right c**t in front of your fellow pros.

I have my MBox, and although I'm a Tracktion user, I do enjoy the MBox and ProTools. Great value. And fantastic results. Although there are more features than Tracktion though, I still prefer Tracktion for it's ease and workflow.
But for the sake of knowing how to use it, I do work in PT. Considering that's what they mostly use here, I feel it's important to know if I'm going to do any work in this town. Actually, it's almost required most of the time.
Anyway, I too love my MBox/PT "rig". Especially the Focusrite pre-amps. Very nice!
