Ive been wanting to make a website for myself for a while now. Cant afford any of the tools out there. I tried the image line ezgenerator. I kinda liked it. But still cant afford the 100USD. and i found it too restrictive.

Been trying to use Serif application Webplus 5, which is now freeware. Wondering if there is anything better out there ?

oh, and i dont know any code...

thanks..

Oh yeah HTML isn't that hard to learn. When you want a more feature-rich web site (Javascript/CSS/PHP/SQL) pm me. :D

EZGenerator is not a standard web editor, it's more of an inexpensive "content management system".

I use it to maintain my church's website, and because I own FLS, I got a discount on EZG (like $20 or so).

http://www.w3.org/ (the WWW Consortium) has a free program named Amaya there, that follows all standards. It's not the most intuitive, but if you're going to do your own html, it's free and functional.

I use GoLive - a 10 year old version and it still works great. It is WYSIWYG, perfect for a codeless idiot like me.

I know HTML aint hard to learn... there was this time in school when i even gave it a shot, got a hand on it, but then totally lost touch. all forgotten now. But when i read HTML scripts they are pretty easy to desipher.

Still, i dont have any inclination to get back to it.

Thanks for the links, im cheking em out now. And wwwill, ill get in touch.. thank you.

Buy your domain name through register4less.com. They have a cool browser-based website creator that actually does a pretty decent job.

Thanks, Sidhu!

You can also try using a pre-built site like PHP-Nuke, or try doing a search for php open source website. They are fairly easy to set up and look very professional. What type of site do you want? Gallery, downloads, a journal?

have you tried www.bandzoogle.com . Definetely the easiest way to get a fairly pro looking site.

Another vote for NVU. It's truly a very powerful editor, and you can use HTML, tags, or visual mode. Plenty of options, and it's made by Mozilla, and has a great development team from what I've seen. On my Mac, it's strictly what I use, since it's cross platform. On PC, I use it sometimes, but I use NetObjects Fusion also.

Still, NVU is one of the most powerful free website builders around, if not the MOST powerful free one. And hey, being free, you can at least try it.
