Anyone know of any VST Microhone Modelers other than Antares?

Gigapulse Convo reverb has a mic modeler feature but I havn't heard it. That's all I can think of. Have you tried noisevault? They might have some mic impulses.

Mic modeling is a have. There are huge differences between mics, which is why mics are one of the few hardware items that studios still really need to collect. Consider a cheap mic, with a high noise floor, limited dynamic and frequency range and stuck in cardioid mode. It is impossible to process that mic to create lower noise, greater dynamics and frequencies or room sound that weren't captured. So the very best that "mic modeling" can ever be is simply some eq curve that roughly matches the flavor of the modelled mic. Extremely roughly. Also - there are huge variations between mic's, even the same models, so unless this was used with reference mic, the eq curves from the models will be just random eq curves with no meaning. I'm not being negative - just realistic about what this technology can hope to achieve. So my advice is to buy a really good parametric eq plugin (I love Kjaerus Gold GEQ-7) and simply colour your mic to taste.

i was just wondering if there were any other software products. i do have some mic modeling in some of my hardware. i agree it's not handy for things captured with a mic originally, but its rather handy for sounds that have never left the digital realm to begin with...

Sorry - i'm not from around here. In my part of the world a "have" is a confidence trick. A rip off. A con job.
