I think he's trying to put the effects on prior to it being recorded? If so, it can't be done. You need to process it before it goes into the sound card. Or get a dsp card, like creamware.

EDIT:Any inserted FX on a VST Input Channel will be permanently recorded.

Sorry, I missed this response.--SYNTH-- wrote:Where is this "vst input channel" ??bduffy wrote:Insert/Send the FX on the VST Input Channel; you'll hear the FX in realtime.

The Input Channel(s) should appear as the very first VST Channel on your mixer, to the left. You have to make sure that you're not hiding it too.
Correction: any FX inserted in the Input Channel will be recorded as if they were outboard gear; how could I forget? That's the beauty of it.I think he's trying to put the effects on prior to it being recorded? If so, it can't be done. You need to process it before it goes into the sound card. No, that is a screencap of SX 2; trust me.--SYNTH-- wrote:But this is at Cubase 3...and i use cubase 2....so do u think that i can't use vst fx over the mic in real time????? If so....how can i make my live performance using fx over my mic???
Yes, you CAN use VST fx on a mic in real-time. Like I said: locate the VST Input Channel, insert an effect. It will record to the track.
If you don't have Input Channels, then you might be using SX 1, and you need to look at the box again.

That's great, great; really constructive advice. My dad can beat your dad at cards, btw.snooky wrote:get Logic, using live channels in Logic is a dream!
hehe, not much help, but it's true...and cubarse sucks btw, it's all messed up.
Look, I don't know...I plug my mic into my audio card, it shows up in the insert channel, I can apply FX. I don't know what to say beyond that, Synth. Now it sounds like you want to use Send FX on the mic. All you have to do is (with low latency settings) activate "Monitor" on the track your recording to and insert/send FX. Beyond that, read the manual again, I may be leading you down the wrong lane.--Synth-- wrote:....THIS IS MAKING ME CRAZY
