Dave,
I finally managed to patch my CDROM via the PC patcher by doing the
update on my Windoze system and then packing the patches back into
a Zip file and FTPing it across to my Mac!
Now a few patches that wouldn't load before do load Ok, especially the
75MB Jupiter one, but a couple of others still cause my Mac to lock up
when I do a load. The file dialogue box pops up and then it just freezes
my system hard, so I have to do a warm reset.
I am using Logic Gold 4.8.1 on a G4/500 DP with 512MB RAM.
I have 300MB allocated to Logic. I have so far only been testing it
with a simple Logic Autoload environment.
DS-404 works well in all other respects.
I will try and make a list of the offending patches the next time I
have a crash.
BTW, are we going to see OSX version of all the wonderful CM plugins,
as well as Tau and so on? Apart from Delay Lama, I rely entirely
on these Muon plugin instruments (at present) and the EXS24!

Some DS-404 patches still cause problems.

Somehow I wonder if 300mb allocated to Logic will be enough to load a 75mb patch. The reason for this is that DS404 uses a temporary file buffer to stream the data from the file into before processing. That means during the load of a 75mb patch you will need 150mb RAM. Once the file has completed loading, 75mb is released. Depending on what else you've got going on I wonder if a little more RAM might simply solve the problem.
OSX is on the cards, as more hosts get released for OSX and gain in acceptance we'll be there. Remember we've got to wait for a test environment to work in just like you guys.

Dave
