On the TraXmusic site http://server40.hypermart.net/dmac00/vsti.htm I found two broken links that point to a Muon-software development page. It says they are for a sampler Tachyon, and a drum synth/sampler Neutron. Now I dont know how recently updated this site is but I've searched both this forum and the Muon-software site for any mention of these VSTi but found none. I was just wondering I there was anything to this. I know about the Positron, but are there infact more plug-ins in development? If so, could you let us know anyhing about them? -Kalkin-

hmmmnnn . . .

tachyon=ds404 ?
neutron=sr202 ?

. . . cheers :shock: rob

Yup, what was going to be Tachyon became DS404. However with Neutron we were planning more of a drum SYNTH than a drum sampler.

Some day, if I was convinced we could do it better than competing products on the market, there may a revival for both Neutron and Tachyon. I can definately tell you that there may be a free DS404 file-player VSTi (with no editing capabilities) soon enough that will take the Tachyon name unless we can think of anything else!!!

Well I for one would be interested in a drum synth from you guys! A more advanced ds-404 type sampler would be nice too. Thanks for the info. :)

Post

Yeah definately a more advanced DS404 with sustain and portamento but while still retaining how easy the DS404 is to use. All you need do is add that, some keyboard/mouse shortcuts, as well as a few more advanced sampler type stuff and sell it for under a grand and you'd have me in a heartbeat. It would also need to be a little less picky about wav fies :) .
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I'm a big fan of the SR-202. I'd like to see something like that,
with a Roland TR-707 style pattern sequencer.....

I'd like some Muon FX

-all your filter algos in one

And your flanger and chorus that you used in TauPro(Bram, right?)
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.

yes a drum machine..

i want a 'redrum'-esque drum machine.. sample based.. could load many formats.. and would have the old roland drum machine-like sequencer. with a resolution selection knob (1/8th, 1/16th,1/32th,1/64th.. etc) and flam knob.

basically.. redrum in vsti form with ability to load many different sample formats. :D

I'd just like to see a single-voice fully-SR202-based unit, either as a module for DR008, or a VST when/if DR008 hosts other VSTs. And I'd pay for it.

I'd agree with Funkybot that one of the main things missing from the DS-404 (great though it is) is that it doesn't respond to sustain pedal info which is pretty essential for acoustic and electric piano sounds.

Hiya,

just a quick self-plug here - I made some v simple midi VSTs to try make cubasis a bit more like Fruityloops ;)
One of these was a simple 16-step drum pattern sequencer - 6 rows and you can assign the output to whichever midi note you want. I found it could be quite useful for triggering the SR202. Drawback is it only really works in cubase/cubasis (pre-SX versions I think) and the vst midi thing only sends midi notes to the selected channel in the arrange page, so you can't switch and work on another part and leave the drum sequencer plugin playing, cos it'll just send the midi to whichever channel you're editing.

I hope the instructions on my website are clear enough cos I haven't got round to writing any proper ones to bundle with the plug. Any questions, just email or post on my forum or something.
