Got back from holiday in Florida on Monday. Had a fantastic time and finished it off with a visit to George's Music, just off International Drive, where I picked up..............

$249 and $60 respectively.

Probably not the cheapest in the USA, but with the exchange rate right now, I saved a shedload :D

Very happy with both. :)

Someone else on KvR has the digitech, cos I remember having a conversation about the Whammy mode on it. Currently looking for a mono volume pedal to hook up and try it out. Anyone selling??????

I've got one of those boxes with the expression pedal. These things sound cheap, but they're fun.

Last time I was around an amp, I just plugged into the left out. If I could find the instuctions, I'd probably find I don't know what I'm talkin about.

Ya gotta turn up both levels to get a good headphone volume.

Those are funny looking synthesizers... :scared:

It's a Squier alright, Tony. A Telecaster Custom II. Plays like a dream - lovely chunky neck - great tones too - throaty bridge pickup, smooth and warm neck pickup. I'm very happy with it :-)

Androidlove - I have the one without the built-in pedal - what I have instead is a socket on the rear that I can plug a bog standard volume pedal into, to get the same effect. Looking forward to trying it out, I must admit.

Anyone in the UK punting an old volume pedal cheap? :D

PS - Android!
Did you know that if you power it up while holding down the "Drums" button, it enables cabinet modelling on all the amp models? Totally different sounds - I think it's a neat unit for headphone practicing, haven't plugged it into the DAW yet.

Cool, thought it looked 'tele' like - I'll have to look at this as I was looking at a new guitar myself (I have a standard squire tele myself).

Cheers for the info, hope you enjoy it - sure you will.

Yea, I just plug in and go, though. I wish I had a Peavey amp. That's the sound I love. No pedals needed.

Thanks, Tony.

I should tell you that I tried two of these guitars in the shop and the one I ended up buying felt and sounded better than the other. In these days of mass produced guitars, you would think they'd all be alike, but the difference was noticeable, even by an amateur like me

The moral is - go ahead and check them out, but make sure you play before you buy. I often wonder how mail order guitar companies stay in business.............

A friend of mine left me an rp3 loooots of years ago.
it doesn't have ampmodels but it rocks. other than the whammy, you get some extreme wahs and dense reverbs in the lot, that's why I like digitech stuff.

get that expression pedal scuzz, fast! it's real fun.
watch out because most of them are crap (not much action) and the good ones are a tad expensive.

I remember the cheaper (and crappier) ones from Proel (italians do it better) made during the boom of Zooms 50something.

Ooo.

That's all, just:

Ooo.

:-)

[edit] Okay, this much more: Wish I could play well enough to justify buying any kind of guitar... if I could, that would be the kind I'd want. Sensible and solid.

Post

whaddya mean "sensible and solid" - are you calling me a drone ?????? :x :P

thanks for the tip on the volume pedals wm 8)

<edit> Meffy - just go and buy yerself the damn guitar. you won't play well enough if you don't have it to practice on, right?????? :-) </edit>

My paws won't take it. Tried before, I ain't got the toughs for it. More respect to those who do. :-)

Oooh, that's the model I was looking at (warm P90-a-likes...) They don't seem to do them with rosewood boards though... I'd probably adjust but have been scarred by my first guitars sticky-varnish (it seemed) 'maple' board... have stuck to rosewood types ever since.

Good on clean sound is it? Still get a fairly decent jangle?

Too bad you only got to stop at George's, we have (one or 2) Sam Ash's, Discount Music Center (all kinds of used oddities there) and a Guitar Center..or 2

But in a pinch Georges will fill your GAS needs :)
