I just bought the new :WUMPSCUT: and VNV Nation albums yesterday and they both continue the trend we started in 2003 of listing our software. They both use Logic 5.5 , and a lot of the same stuff that you guys do. Rudi mentions all the ReFXsynths.

VNV Nation also uses Vanguard!
BTW, ALL live-played sounds during the current tour are played with Vanguard.

I'd need a 8 panel booklet and a accountant to add up and list all the gear I've been using on my last few CD's and songs.
Between 'software', presets and support - and then hardware, presets, and support... It would kill time in ANY bathroom as good reading material I'm sure.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that probably means one synth-line in one song, if the live DVD is anything to go by.Michael Kleps from reFX wrote:VNV Nation also uses Vanguard!

Also come to think of it, Herbert Brün's SAWDUST trilogy (Dust, More Dust, and Dustiny) each listed all the software used, back in 76 thru 78. Of course the software in this case was just SAWDUST which Brün created himself, but still.
Herbert Brün leads, NOVAkILL follows.

Of course people list all their cool hardware but last time I looked, most big acts were reluctant to even admit they used software. VNV also listed hardware synths, in a hopeless attempt to maintain some facade of mainstream credibility, but :W: listed only software.
Needless to say, NOVAkILL continue to lead the pack as our new album gives individual instrument credits per song. e.g. BASS - WaspXT, Strings - ORION Sampler, LEAD - kARMAkILLER.
Seriously though, its great to see software gaining more acceptance.

I love when I know what gear (hatd or soft) my favourite bands use. For example, I'd love to know which synths does haujobb or skinny puppy use nowadays.

On my gatefold sleeve of Ummagumma, Pink Floyd lay out all their instruments in some formation on what looks like a runway. I think you should do this too.

Quincy Jones even listed all players and the synth gear they used on Michael Jackson albums and most of the others he produced as far back as his brilliant seventies productions of the Brothers Johnson, with some breakthrough synthesizer work for those days.. oh and that is including the Casio's used.
Signature ? What signature ?
