Dudes that's some serious. S-E-R-I-O-U-S cash flow. Wow! 3.4 b---iiiii-llllll---iiiiii--ooooooo-nnnnn smackolee's. You could buy whole countries with that kind of money. Damn! Flash/Macromedia sells their products for that kind of dough? Are you serious? I mean... how do they make that kind of money? I could buy like.... every N.B.A. basketball team AND their arena's for that kind of money. I would have never guessed, I didn't think there was that kind of money in that sort of thing. Is that from selling software? Can someone explain this to me?

Flash, dreamweaver, freehand, fireworks, JRun, coldfusion. Thats a pretty, err, flash line up.
Wonder what'll happen with illustrator/freehand and fireworks/imageready.

It will probably be like Corel buyiing JASC - they just kept PaintShopPro as a separate product. They did the same thing with Painter when I thought the clever thing might have been to take all the good bits out of Painter and put them into PhotoPaint.
If Adobe are smart they'll kill off some of their own products and keep macromedia's big guns - Flash, Dreamweaver, Freehand.
NOVAkILL : Legion GO, AMD Z1x, 16GB RAM, Win11 | Audient EVO 8 | Lumi Keys | Studio Pro 8
Korg Odyssey, bx-oberhausen, Proxima, PolyMax, GR8, JP6K, Union, Atomika,
Invader 2, Flow Motion, Olga, TRK 01, Thorn, Spire, VG Iron

Yeah, its just that there's an awful lot of competing products there. Okay, I cant imagine too many people buy Fireworks on its own, but most of the rest of MM's web stuff is de facto, with Adobe as an also-ran, 'cept for Photoshop. Not a web app per se, but definitely the standard.

Now if they'd drop Fireworks, and bundle Photoshop with Dreamweaver, they'd make a lot of people happy....

I think Illustrator is a bit too big to drop in favour of Freehand, though.

The buggers'll be looking for a 3D company next. Betcha.

Look man, the world is run by corrupt multinational corporations screwing you and me.
How much detail do you want me to go into? :)

Isn't Microsoft the biggest company in the world?

And what do they sell?
Software

Who do they give money to?
Bush

OK it may not qualify as corrupt, but giving money to that oil loving, east hating nazi is in my books.

FWIW, I bought Adobe Audition for my audio needs, and I don't feel screwed at all - I'm delighted with it.

When Adobe bought out Syntrillium a lot of people feared the worst and clung on to their old copies of Cool Edit Pro for dear life...

But it seems to me that Adobe have allowed Cool Edit Pro, under it's new moniker, to carry on development just as well as before. Not only that, the Adobe input seems to have really enhanced the software so far.

I hope the same will prove true for these latest acquisitions. Admittedly, this time there is some notable crossover in the product range they have acquired, so it will be very interesting to see where they go with that!

Bzzzzt. Fallacious argument. What Microsoft allegedly does is of no relevance whatsoever to what Adobe are allegedly doing. Thank you.

I seriously doubt if you are stupid enough to need me to explain the parallel here.
You strike me as better than that man.
