Hey guys I'm looking for simple wav based sampler. Nothing complex like Halion, Kontakt or Vsampler something simple yet effective. Something kind of like P5's Velocity (which I like a lot) but for keys instead of drums. The main feature I'm looking for is ability to audition wavs as you browse like you can in with P5's Velocity. I mainly use soundfonts and softsynth for production but I would like to be able to make sample Instruments without opening a sounfont editor, importing huge sample libraries or blindly searching and opening samples without being able to hear them first. This would be good for making simple instruments on the fly and improve my workflow.
Also something inexpensive or free if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.

SFZ is simple and free, and can read soundfonts and wav files.
My MusicCalc is temporary offline.

Thanks,SFZ is really cool for sounfonts but it lacks the ability to audition/preview wav files before you load them. I have tons of raw samples I would like to use and it would be so much easier to able to navigate through them. Kinda like Soundforge's autoplay function. It lets you hear the sample before you load it.C00kie wrote:SFZ is simple and free, and can read soundfonts and wav files.

shortcircuit
www.vemberaudio.com
This allows you to audition wave files in context while your sequence is playing, and the GUI is simple and functional. Tons of power, but easy to get up and running with it. There is also a fully functional free version limited to 2 notes polyphony. Hope this helps.
