automatic warp marker/elastic audio use for old disco music?

I have a lot of old funk and disco records that I want to digitize and use for mixing. The problem with that music from the 70s is, that it's hard to mix because the tracks aren't in time like a programmed beat. A friend of mine uses ableton live's warp markers to get his tracks straight so he can mix them without a problem. The bad thing is, that this takes 1-2 hours per song, because you have to set the warp markers by hand.
My question now is, if anyone knows of a software/plugin that can do this more or less automatic. I know that Cubase SX 3 and Samplitude have similar elastic audio/warp marker features, but I need something with a nice and intelligent algorithm that does all the work for me:)
I hope anyone can help me.

moobase 3 certainly has warp markers that are positioned by a recycle type algorythm - these can then be used to quantise a track - so i guess it would be able to quantise tracks
but i haven't ever tried it

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

I can't find anything on moobase 3. Do you perhaps have a direct link?ericj23 wrote:moobase 3 certainly has warp markers that are positioned by a recycle type algorythm - these can then be used to quantise a track - so i guess it would be able to quantise tracks

yeah sorry moobase cubase shmoobase
just tried it - the meters sissy strut - put it in got the warp markers quantised it to hard 16ths - while it did sort of do the job it sounded horrible
you probably just want to have each bar (every second)of the song starting on the beat at a constant tempo - so i used only some of the hitpoints - and for chunks of the song this worked perfectly with the track being at the project tempo - but at the breakdown in the song (and there are a few) it just goes totally haywire, presumeably because there are less hitpoints than beats - so it moves them to the wrong place - so defintely not a success
I cant think of anyway moobase could do this without the masses of editing you want to avoid in ableton

the whole point though with live is that you only have to do it once, and like eluded to earlier there are other apps that can quantize it but this kind of music sounds terrible quantized, Live will allow you to sync up the bits without losing the all important dynamics.
