Hosts and hardware controllers.

In had an idea for a way for companies to make more money out of me.
What if companies made hardware controllers for their included synths...kinda like what Korg did with their MS20 mock-up? I mean, if M-Audio can sell controllers with knobs and sliders for $200-250 bucks...why couldn't a company invest in making their own?
Well, it wouldn't even have tobe limited to hosts...synth companies could do it too.
Would there be a market for that? I would think so.
I am running project5. I think if they sold a nPulse controller, a Velocity controller, a PSYN controller, a Roland Groovesynth controller, a Dimension controller, and a DS864 controller and they resembled their gui on screen...and were priced each in the $150-300 range...I'd fork out the cash on it.
What do y'all think?

Normally, I would agree with you, but it would look better than just a MicroKontrol and a laptop at a gig.isdjan wrote:i'd prefer a nice allround controller, to be honest, like korg microkontrol...i'm sooo glad that digital music production can be done without hardware eating up all my space.

... except that you would have to lug it around and set it all up. After two gigs, you'd be more than happy to dump it all. All I'm taking to Europe is my new Micron and my teeny-weeny PCR-1 controller also new]. Together, they cost me less than reaktor.
I think the less gear, the better. I dunno about other controllers but the PCR-1 has 15 presets that you can call up for different instruments. That's about 10 presets more than I need.
