Hi!

Our free EQ received an update!

We optimized NWEQ with this features:

- if the gain of a band is 0, then the band wont be calculated by the computer

- if the characteristic of a band is on 1 or 2, then the opposite characteristic wont be calculated by the computer

This means:

If you use only one band with characteristic 1, then only 1 filter will be used.

If you use only one band with characteristic 2, then 2 filters will be used.

If you use only one band with between both characteristics then 3 filters will be used.

You can use a minimum of 0 filters to a maximum of 11 stereo filters at once. The previous versions always used all the 11 filters at the same time. However, if you are using all the 11 filters at once, NWEQ V1.2 will be even so more CPU friendly than NWEQ V1.1, because the filter code became a bit faster.

Hope, you'll like our new stuff! :)

Best regards:

So to sum up: yes, it is faster. ;)

much better concept now - thank you !

Congratulations 9b0. It's a very nice update. I wish there was also a way to switch the *6 oversampling to a lower value when tracking and be able to turn it to the max just before rendering. I imagine it isn't piece of cake to implement but it would surely be a great addition to a yet very good plugin.

I think, mostly characteristic 1 does the job very well. If you use all the bands with this character, it wont eat more CPU, than other EQ plugins with the same features. Characteristic 2 is more good for sound designing for me.

The optimizing was the work of aabyssx, so gratulate him please! :)

The filter algorithm went through a little evolution, too. Currently lowering the internal precision of the new filters will not be that notable regarding performance. In exchange it would produce unusable results at high frequencies.

So currently we are happy that after the speed improvement the filters remain as precise as before. ;)

...but user feedback is very important and AFAIK other new features are also in development, so suggestions and ideas are welcome as always. ;)

many thanx for this - cool works...however, the coronation would be an echoing or reverb plugin *smile*...cu

Thanks to you Aabyssx. :]

Am I missing something? With all bands reset, I get no sound out of this EQ. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Maybe you have some bands on solo mode. If a band is set to solo the original signal is not mixed to the output.

Thanks for the lower cpu-usage! Keep up the good work! ;)

I'm really liking it!! Your filters are warm---I like the boosts. I'm also trying out your other products.

Thanks so much!
