I like the sound of the add-on pianos that we can now download, but I do wish they weren't looped.
Now, with the ability to download sounds, is there any chance we'll get unlooped verions of them? Do you have the original samples, still?
Squidz: any chance of an unlooped piano?

Of course Sonic Reality have all the original sessions archived. I'm not sure that 100% unlooped samples would give a noticeable difference - I can't hear any looping artefacts, and I have some of SR's best piano instruments.
It's a trade-off. Why make a one gig sampled piano instrument with unlooped samples if you can loop them perfectly and bring the size down to 150 megs and the difference is imperceivable? In the same space, instead of one piano, you can have six or seven different pianos.
I think there's a bit of "mine's bigger than yours" competition among the massive piano libraries. Too many velocity layers and unlooped samples is a nice way to bump up the size of a library. The One in Sonik Synth 2 has three velocity layers, and it's smooth. The only time the listener would even hope to notice a lack of expression (in the sound) would be in detailed solo piano music, and if you're going that way, then sampled pianos aren't appropriate anyway.
Forever,
Kim.

I agree with Kim. However, if there was a demand for it anyway then you're right about downloadable sounds being a good avenue for alternate versions. Only problem is that a non-looped version would be rather large for a download.
