This is probably one of those DUH questions but here goes:

I highlight a bar or 2 in the timeline for loop playback. Now, every
time I try to add a note to the midi loop, the loop becomes unlooped
(unhighlighted). Basically any time I click anywhere the loop becomes
unhighlighted and I lose it. I'm sure there is something simple I
need to do. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
By the way, I'm working with 6.4 here.

from 6.7, I think, you can unlink the edit selection and the time selection. You do that under "Operations", or key shortcut Apple+/.
