I have just reinstalled Adobe Audition 1 and have a problem I had the first time I installed it but I cannot remember how I changed the setting the first time.

In edit view, I cannot find out how to set the play, stop and pause buttons in the transport control to work. The rewind and forward buttons are OK. In session view all is OK.

Can anyone tell me where the setting is to change this please.

Regards,

Goseba.

I can only assume you mean the play options (loop...ect) and record features...for the menu for that right click the transport button you wish to set properties of...you can also define your shortcuts, I'm quite pleased with spacebar play as it the standard I found the little button on my laptop called apllications (2 to the right space bar between alt and ctrl) works well for a recod shortcut...:)

Thanks Hink but it does not seem to work for me. The buttons are greyed out.

Please dont think I'm a jerk...but the only time I get greyed out transport controls is in the edit veiw window when there is no wav loaded...are they greyed out in the multi view too?

Hi Hink, I think you are helpful with your suggestions, not a jerk. But yes, I have a waveform loaded. In session (multi) view it is OK. I had this when I originally installed it but cannot remember how to change the setting.

I had this recently aswell - my soundcard is an 828mk2 and it only appeared when I started AA without it turned on.
Maybe you need to go into 'Device order' and define an 'Edit View' default out. If, in the device oredr, you do not have an EV set then no sound will out.

okay, I did have something similar but everytime I tried to run AA it just closed with the message please restart AA, I was at wits end. I tried everything and finally completely by accident I tried to record without arming a track and I got a message saying I needed to arm a track first and it began playing...and that fixed it I've got it open right now. I have tried shutting down my soundcards in device order and device properties...it didn't grey out the controls at all even with nothing assigned. (if I click the in or out box for each channel nothing is there) so I don't think it's that. Did you try to go options>settings>general>restore default workspace? That might help, otherwise humor me and try to click the record button on a completely empty session. (I know it's greyed out) maybe you should try hitting F10 as well (that turns on the monitorng of incoming signals) that might jump start it too...if not go to the audition forums...there's a guy there named Ozpeter, who is a great guy and has made many tutorials and such. He's quick and polite with his answers (as are many others there, perhaps the most civil forum I've seen) but you may find your answers in his faqs...but dont be afraid to ask them for help, they are really helpful...if you do tell oz Hink says hi...:D

Not had a chance at home to try anything else yet. Had a quick look on the Audition forum but didn't notice what I was looking for.
