Hi,

I just discovered that Fruity Loops supports MP3 format, which qualifies it as a host for me :)

I successfully loaded some MP3s into it, but I couldn't edit them from within FL. How can I set the start and end points in the sampler? And is it possible to edit the MP3 in FL's internal audio editor?

Even better: Could I resample part of the MP3 to a WAV and slice/edit the wav?

I'm just playing with the demo, so perhaps there'll follow more questions

hehe j/k

how big are these mp3s?

mp3 support is weird in FL, it really just decompresses them to wav anyway.

The first lines of your post scared me :shit:

The MP3s are from my CDs and Vinyl, so they are about 5mb average.

But I'd really need to slice them or something, as the decompression takes lots of time atm.

I'd like to know if I really can work with FL before I buy it, so Looptalk won't be available for now...

u can slice them if u insert them as audio-tracks (please read manual how to do that)
and in the playlist editor (F5) hold shift and drag with left mouse b over the part where u want to cut them

sorry I don't do any audio editing in FL

And how do I get these audio clips into a new sampler? Is it possible without "Make Unique"?

either drag and drop them from a folder onto an empty audio clip or right click it and import the audio

I don't really understand you...How can I drag and drop them from a folder when they don't exist as a WAV file? I only have the slice I cut out of the MP3 clip in the Playlist/Audio Track.

Importing the audio won't work either because it will import the whole MP3, not the slice I cut out in the playlist.
