I using sonar 3.11 with XP. I like using profiles so that i can get online to post messeges, email, etc. but I,of course, like to use my system for Recording. I understand that you can log on as a different profile and have things like your LAN turned off, USB,firewire, etc that you dont need so that they wont be taking any system resources at all. and as for the User log in, you can change screen resolution, active desktop to be on/off, and so on. but you cannot specify what services you want running and what not. WHich, i have seen make a big difference. Is there a way in XP to have like a personalized startup for services either in the profile or User log on. Or is there an application that manages startup service :?: . If anyone knows it could be very helpful.

usually i like to disable all the networking serivces.........actually a ton of serivces when i record and makes a big difference. But have to go and either restart them when i get online:!:

You could do this with hardware profiles within XP, right click on MY Computer, select properties, select the hardware tab and click on hardware profiles. You will have a default standard profile, then what you can do is create another profile deselect everything you don't want running etc. You have to what profile you want during bootup.
