If you can spend some money, I can tell you I've found my "ultimate" Cp-80 library, it's the one from Prominy and it's called PCP-80. Try to google it...
I use it on EXS, but it features Giga, Halion, Kontakt. It's a joy to play, up to 20 velocity layers. If you can't afford a real CP-80, this is the one! No compromises

I'm sure the HollowSun is a good product too (it's a CP-70 versus a CP-80 anyway, so we are talking about two slightly different pianos), and as I've said if you can spend something more and really want to have "that" sound and "playability", check out the PCP-80

I downloaded and tried EVE One free version your right, theres a CP70B included.
There is also a version in EVE. What's the different between EVE and EVE one?

Basically, EVE allows you to layer 3 sounds. EVE One has no layering, but it has a better filter, modulation options and effects. Best to download the EVE demo and compare for yourself to be totally clear.

If you are just interested in the CP70, it will sound pretty much the same in EVE or EVE One (the samples are the same)...

Ermmmm.... They are two slightly identical pianos except for an extra octave in the left hand - apart from that, there is nothing to tell them apart.

You seem to be implying that my product A) isn't authentic and B) isn't as 'playable' - it is both.

The Prominy is undoubtedly excellent from the demos I have heard and from Dave Stewart's SOS review (he's a known CP afficianado/player and is always brutally honest in his reviews) but it is quite a bit more expensive and, with all those velocity layers, it's gonna be a right memory hogger (even with the 'lite' versions). Mine is considerably more economical in that respect but loses none of the authenticity or 'playability'. Don't forget as well that mine also includes a version through a Boss/Roland analogue chorus pedal for an authentic, jangly Peter Gabriel sound and mine also contains various string sweeps (not that they're the type of thing you'll use every day of course!). Mine also contains note-off releases

And mine, of course, is a quarter of the price!


Mine was A/B tested against the original and no perceptible difference could be heard. Besides which, one important factor has kind of been overlooked....

In 99% of cases when playing a CPx0, you're going for that 'in yer face' trademark CP sound and not its delicate subtleties (although mine handles those equally well... just differently) - I imagine that most of the time, those extensive velocity layers will be wasted (as will your memory and CPU!).

But, of course, it's your choice at the end of the day - I am just pointing out that there is no difference between the CP70 and CP80 other than the extended bottom octave (which may or may not be important to you) - same action, same hammers, strings, mechanism, pickups, electronics, etc.. The CP70 is certainly not some 'inferior' piano. In fact, if my memory serves me well, the 70 was the more popular of the two as it was (marginally!) more portable and quite a bit cheaper than it's bigger sibling.

And don't get me wrong - I am not 'dissing' Mr Okawa's product - I am sure it is stunning - but don't overlook mine simply because it's a CP70B.
