This latest single from everyones fave boy band (yeah, right!

) has got this melody line that sounds to me like a song I've heard before. But for the life of me I can't place it? In the verse parts and reprised on the end chorus - it reminds me of a tune I may have heard 10-20 years ago, and best I can recall it was a vocoder voice doing the exact same melody and the music line was indentical as well. Maybe it was Stereolab, Portishead, or Howard Jones to Laurie Anderson? But I've heard that lick before I know it!

Anyone got some input?

isn't it time for them to change their name to backstreet men? they must be in their 30's now.

Its the chord sequence used, it has been used in quite a few songs.

Good point... but actually, since their earlier stuff, the whole Political-Correctiveness movement has gained a lot of momentum... To remain current, their name should not show any gender bias...

How about: "Backstreet Persons"

Yeah... I agree... Sometimes I think 'Backdoor Boys' would be more appropriate...

I had the chance to see Jayne at All Tomorrow's Parties a few weeks back, but I missed her

. I did hear a funny story about her disgust at the state of the food in the place though.
