I hear alot about choke w/ soft synth's. rather new to soft synths/romplers. Have been using a outboard module for few years.
Seems it hass to do with hi hats or the like, maybe cymbals too?
Would anyone care to explain?
another thing, how the heck do you mute the cymbal hit, ya know like a real drummer would do?kill the decay of the hit)> Or is that what a choke is?

Yep--choke stops the previous sound when the virtual cymbal is hit again. The drum synths I've seen have the ability to turn choke on or off.
