Sony makes a noise reduction plug-in that I've used and works fairly well.

I disagree, try using a condenser mic in an apartment with a large window that is right next to a busy street.snooky wrote:may I suggest trying to record the material better? if you need extreme noise reduction, you're doing something wrong...
I can sometimes have a -40db noise floor on a bad day.

Renovator is a little out of my price range at 2490 Euro - It would take me some time to pay that off - it reminds me a bit of the Adobe Audition spectral view edit mode - Frequency Space Editing I think it's called in Audition. I wouldn't be able to compare the 2 though.
I'm a Voxengo Redunoise guy anyway (VST - $99 or so) - there was a shootout thread here on KVR a few months back that you can search for and was pretty interesting.

That plugin is actually one of the very best in that price category. But it is easy to use it wrongly.josevin2000 wrote:hey guys. can anyone please suggest any noise reduction plugin other than waves X noise, for Pc platform.....

You probably did tweak it too heavy. (There is some experience (and probably knowledge about spectral modifying) required to get any successful results.

I second that. I tend to use the Sony NR more than the Waves one. You can download the demo and check it out.megumizooloo wrote:Sony makes a noise reduction plug-in that I've used and works fairly well.

I think it works better than Waves too, I've used both. I've never tried the other plug-ins mentioned.

"At extreme levels of threshold and reduction" every NR plugin will sound like sh*t. Sorry.josevin2000 wrote:hey guys. can anyone please suggest any noise reduction plugin other than waves X noise, for Pc platform.....
