Hey...
Not sure if this has been asked before... I have the chance of buying SL 3 for a really great price. But before I drop the money, I just wanted to know if I am able to install the software on both my desktop and laptop, then just swap the dongle between the two. Does that work? Is it breaking any licensing agreements?
Thanks in advance if anyone can provide an answer!
Cheers.

imho, this should be just fine. some node-locked license thingy like flexLM would be a different story i think. but to make sure, someone here has a license agreement handy maybe...?

Sure, you can load it and use it wherever you like.

Yes. And by plugging in the dongle into the appropriate machine, you can run it on that particular machine.

i got sl3 too - and yes u can install on 2 computers. but:
sl3 is very nice. when i got it i thought: sl3 is a stripped down version of sx3: no sourround, no outboard effects, no monolith vst synth, only 32 vst slots to use. but working with sl3 changed my mind.
not only some "very professional" things like sourround are missing. no - some really simple functions for "normal" workflow are missing too. e.g. sl3 box says: only 2 mixer views. well, ok you thing - no prob. but when u have a bigger project (like 15 audio parts) u will get crazy managing insert effects and eq!!
sl3 will not give you a nice (and NORMAL) overview of your project. only a very basic cutdown view. for some things u need about 5 clicks more then in sx3. does not sound bad - but working with it - it is.
so? to get a nicer overview i am supposed to spend extra 300!! of course then i do get sourround and all that - but again: i dont need it!!
well, just my 2 cents ...
