effex on cubase sx3

When I record I try to put on some fx like reverb on the voice before recording but I don't here any fx only after I've recorded the voice I can hear the effex .But some of the singers like to here a little bit effex (like reverb or a hall on their voice or any fx they choose) how do I do that so they can hear some fx on their voice before it's recorded I've tried everything but didn't find it is it possible? !What's the problem ?

if u have ur fx loaded as a send effect, hit f3 (for mixer window) and check to see if the fx is set to pre or post fader.
