If so, what type of sounds would you want in it?

Post

Anything that is NYC Dance!!! I'm talking about anything that can be produced like in those "NYC Afterhours" mix compilations!

I would - and probably will - buy the Reason Drums refill from Propellerheads. I would probably buy others, but with so many outstanding free ones to download and use, I've yet to find a reall need to fork out my cash! But getting a new refill can be just like getting a new synth, especially the NN-XT sample ones.

If I were to pay for a refill now, it would have to be in the spirit of the RDK, fabulously recorded, multiple layered, deliciously Reason-specific stuff.
I miss realistic strings, brass and woodwinds, particularly solo instruments with enough articulations to make things a little more varied than the Orkester stuff.
But I wouldn't pay $1000, so who's going to bother?

Reason strings, from Propellerheads, is good - I have that one. Better than the Orkester strings by far...

I have Mello-T from SonicReality and Drumkits. so the answer is yes, mainly. Also, the Electromechanical is worth some bucks. what about a huge, scary church organ?

I bought all three dowloadable sonic reality refills. I dont much like to wait for samples, so I prefer downloadable.

They're OK rex files, but I never use them. The individual instruments didn't impress me much...

I bought the props string refill, but I'm not a fan. I do use a number of the Sonic Reality refills. I find them different and useable. Recomended.

the sonic refill is the best overall refill i've used in reason.

its like having a korg triton, and roland jv 5080 sound set.

for electromic music the sonic data refill is better than most sounds in the malstrom and subtractor.

i just use my sample cds for drum sounds.

I've bought a few in the past - Creative Essentials is a fantastic collection and theres some useful stuff on the Total Dance / Funk / Drum & Bass / Hip Hop collection. I'm working my way through The Quadrasynth Story and Analog Night from Reasonbanks at the moment and theres some good construction stuff in there. Same with their Orange2 refill which I bought last year.

i would. i've got ambient textures, orange xt and rdk which are superb! :)
be part of the solution, not the problem
