5. Prefered synthesis method (if any).

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present.
-- I've been doing a lot of analog style music lately but I love all types of synthesis from old analog to pure digital strangeness. So, anything having to do with sound design I'm into. I'm very interested in doing more preset design, as well as beta testing.

5. Prefered synthesis method (if any).
I like new things/ideas but traditional stuff is also cool.

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present.
I am Australian but live in Germany. Was studio producer/engineer/programmer and film + television composer for about 20 years before ending up in Bremen for the last 5. Hopefully I don't look as old as that sounds. I've also done manuals for instruments etc.

I actually work for Digidesign now but am emailable also here:

Hey Mark (OT alert), would you happen to know Detlef Blanke (because of your virtual guitarist programming reference). I've just finished some touring with him.
And, as you're working for Digidesign, I'm sure you'll know Marc Ebermann as well.
There are 3 kinds of people:

Never mind, as long the synth is not sample-based and has lots of modulation sources/destinations.

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present.

Since 1992 I'm an active musician. As producer of several projects I released 2 albums, numerous compilations and 12"s. Furthermore I'm touring worldwide with 2 liveacts and as Dj. Find details about me and my projects here:

2. What synths you have worked on.

In terms of comissioned work:

Novation A-Station, KS4 & Supernova II
Emu APS soundfonts, XL1, XL7, MP7, XK6
Albino, CronoX, Sytrus, Vanguard and Alchemy

In terms of my own commercial 128-preset releases @ arksun-sound.com:

Sylenth1, Blue

Just making presets for own person use:

Too many to list.

3. What developers you have worked for.

Emu, Linplug, reFX, Novation, Image Line, Camel Audio

4. Any web references.

http://www.arksun-sound.com

For the hardware stuff, well my presets, demos, arp patterns and loops are blended in with the other factory sounds, for softy stuff, check the respective websites. CronoX Megablast is probably still the best soft-synth demo track I've done, should be on the CronoX2 page I think. Sytrus demo plays on Sytrus website.

5. Prefered synthesis method (if any).

I'm not a huge fan of FM, I'll be upfront about that right now, but love subtractive, addictive and any other combo of waveform, wavetable, ring sync width waveshaping.

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present.

Given the field of music I produce in (mainly trance, progressive and chillout) these are my strength areas in preset programming, though I have done hiphop stuff too for Emu, Gospel stuff.

Post

*ahem* Why I think a moment for me in the spotlight would be dandy. :)

1. Name: Chris Roberson. I am also known as "DJ Blu Gruv"

2. Synths:
Hmm, that's a deep one...
Hardware- Roland V-Synth, Korg microKorg (and so roundabout inheritance, the MS2000), Access Virus Ti, Roland D-50 (awesomeness), Nord Lead 2X, Nord Electro. Yamaha Motif (although I don't consider a 'synth'). I guess not so many here.

Software- Well aside from my own which I've developed, which is an FM synth, a few subtractive synths, a model of an electric piano, a DANDY model of a Theremin, and a digital wave synth, I've worked with Vanguard, MS-20, Polysix, Wavestation, Oddity, impOSCar, M-Tron, MiniMonsta, Model-E, CS-80V, MinimoogV, Mood ModularV, Arp2600V, TimewARP 2600, Virsyn Tera, Cube, and Cantor, Synth 1, The Muon(sp?) Tau line, Absynth 1 2 and 3, Pro-53, FM7, Reaktor 5(although not so much.), B4, V-Station, Bass Station, METAPHYSICAL FUNCTION! (I go nuts with that one!). That's all I really feel like typing at this point, the list just doesn't end.

3. Devs: I haven't really worked for devs, per se, I did a small bank for this one guy, I think his name was "Stumm" or something like that? He did a Roland synth emulation. But I still have a million and one presets to things that I've yet to upload to my site. Keep an eye out on the site cause I'm sure I'm gonna update it relatively soon. You can find the site link below in my post.

4. Web references: Well, there was Stumm's site, but I'm not sure if my stuff is still up on it.

5. Preferred synthesis method: You know, I find it kind of surprising that after seven pages I haven't seen anyone say this outright, but I LOVE to play with Granular synthesis. I'm so into the stutter effect and time manipulation it's ridiculous. But other than that I pwn face with subtractive synthesis. I do decent with FM too. :)

6. Extra comments: I'm working on a meticulous simulation of analog kit at the moment for the KVR dev comp. It's not supposed to be a simulation of a particular piece of hardware, it's just an analog-style synth. And for SE, this is the fattest gritties dirtiest filter designed for only using stock SE modules. ;) So you better get ready for that.

Other notes, I'm really into ambient type stuff. Give me a day with Metaphysical Function and my Wavestation and I'll give you shit that keeps you awake at night.

7. Contact info: You can mail me to blu_gruv *at* lycos.com
You should go to my site anyway to get my synths: http://blu-gruv.tripod.com
I'd love to get some PM's on here, as well.
If you have MySpace, you can find my artist page at http://www.myspace.com/djblugruv and from there there is a link to my personal MySpace page should you be so inclined to chat or actually see what I look like ;)

Cheers to everyone. :)

What synths you have worked on.
Hardware
MiniMoog, Moog Prodigy, Moog Taurus I, ARP Odyssey, ARP 2600, Nord Lead 2, SC ProOne, CZ Series Synths, Octave Cat, MiniKorg, etc.

Software
Synth1, Zebra2, Iridium Iris Reality Bass & Paragon Bass, SuperCore, Xoxos Radian, 2Tone Firebird, Session Drummer, Shreddage2, Cygnus, Refx Vanguard, Mellowsound, Tapeworm, FXpansion DR-Fusion2, ReFX Slayer 2, NI Absynth, NI FM-7, Propellerheads Rebirth 338, and dozens more free and commercial soft synths, samplers and ROMplers.

What developers you have worked for.
None, but I am the author and publisher of a package of patches and manuals and other related materials for the Casio CZ Series of synths.

Prefered synthesis method (if any).
It really makes little difference to me as long as I can get the sounds I want out of the beast!

Any other comments about your work you would like to present.
I played bass guitar and synths for many Grammy award-winning artist through my early twenties and thirties and have extensive audio and video studio experience. I now focus on keyboards and guitars and consider myself a top programmer for the mighty little giant, Synth1. Although the little dynamo can't do everything, what it can do absolutely amazes me and and on such a low CPU drain. I'm a huge fan and dedicated programmer and user. Beta tester for Xoxos, Iridum Irus, GE, and SuperCore.

Most recent compositions and programming can be found here:

My forum on The Auditorium has SKnote Grainz and Voices demo songs

My Myspace blog has links to my Novuzeit TheHandsOfDarknessClenched and tweakbench VST demo songs

This is now terribly out of date. I've made too many demo songs to keep track of, but my signature links to my website with patch design and song links. ;)

5. Prefered synthesis method (if any).
The more experimental the better. I especially am interested in Resynthesis, Physical Modelling & Granular. Despite this being in the instruments forum, I am even more keen to beta test or create patches for experimental and FSU VSTfx.

6. Any other comments about your work you would like to present.
I am an insomniac workaholic when it comes to music. I will literally travel anywhere on this planet to work on powerful PCs to churn out mind-rending sound design.
