press a key, say C1, to start a loop playing in a sampler. When I release C1, no note off is sent, so the loop continues to play. Then when I press D1 to play another loop, note off for C1 is sent so it stops playing, and the D1 loop will begin, and so on.
Sort of like the 'trigger' mode in P5 groove matrix. I don't need it to sync to host or anything like that. I've tried messing with some midi stuff in synthedit, but can't get anything to work well.
Do you know of a plugin that will do this?
Thanks.
any MIDI plugin that does this ?

I guess I could do this in EXT with the live mode, but I want it to trigger a specific sampler(Intakt)to use it's time stretch feature. I don't know if EXT would help in this case?

yes you could. Stick Intakt on a midi chanel in the seq and use the live mode to trigger it
It has modes for stop/start, play once, or play for ever
