It's not earthshaking, and it's certainly not going to dethrone FL Studio as the king of low-priced hosts, but it seems to be now a DX-based Garage Band rip-off, so it should appeal to the same sort of crowd.

I have Pro9 as part of Band in a Box, I didn't get much past launching it. I wonder how decent the time stretch is in Pro 10. It could be worth recommending to friends on a really tight budget. I wonder how it compares to the other Home Studio type Windows apps.

ASIO and DXi support for $49 USD. It's a fully featured MIDI sequencer and the audio side seems to be catching up. You can use FL Studio as a DXi with it, which would be quite a powerful combination.

Out of curiosity, I've just had a quick look at this. I say quick because it did nothing but lockup after I'd set it up. Every menu/option I clicked on resulted in a total freeze. Can't say what it's like to use, and I won't be trying it again.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

Currently the demo is for v9, not the newly released v10 with ASIO support.

If you get the time, it might be worth reporting your system spec and problems to PG Music - just so they know.

Hi kisuw,
Thanks, that may explain the problems, tho' I'm pretty certain the demo I tried allowed for asio drivers. I'm only using a bog standard P4 2.0 with XP Home SP2, 1 gb ram. etc, nothing out of the ordianary. I can't believe I'm the only person to have these issues, besides, the same system happily runs Tracktion and FLS 5.02. Like I said, I was only curious, I've no intention of buying.

'EDIT'
I've just reinstalled and my mistake, it is version 9. Didn't help much tho', it installed and opened ok this time, with no lockups, but I couldn't get a sound out of the demo songs (using a Audiuophile 2496) Probably user error

I had PT9 for some time. The new features in PT10 does not really make it an attraction for upgrade, but at $29, it is not a breaking of he bank choice. I used PT9 only a few times for the TC Helicon that is inluded. A really great and powerfull software and a total steal for that price. Now that I have Rephrase I don;t use PT9 anymore, but anybody who nead pitch shifting and harmonizing software for cheap can not go wrong.
