I use a hardware synth, Trinity, hooked up to Cubase SX3. When I loop a section it's like the synth sending note off messages in the end of the loop, all sounds stops and it starts working again when the loop get back in start position. Whats wrong? Is it a setting in Cubase or the synth that has to be changed to get rid of this anoying problem? :x

There can be program/bank changes that get sent at the end/start of the cycle, which mute the connected synth while it processes the command, for that make sure chase is off for controller info/program change.

The reset on part end preference can send a reset at the end of the cycle, whicxh again can cause notes to be cut.

Usually the chase and reset preferences can allow clean playback of cycle mode Midi data.

Hi Bas!
Do you mean that the boxes in Cubase preferences/chase events/controller and program change shall be ticked?

and the Reset on part end box shall not be ticked?

I recognized that if I unticked the record Sysex in Cubase preferences/Midi filter it solved the problem but is this the right way around?

Usually uncheck/untick the boxes to stop chasing events to clear problems like this.

Reset on part end sends a reset controller message (and other controller messages too) and on some synths that wqill cause them to mute or cut notes.

The record sysex filter should not really make a difference, but having the through flag checked for sysex might make a lot of difference, if the synth sends sysex. That can kill sound from a synth if it receives a sysex message.
