I lost XGplayer setup ...
Yamaha dont share XGplayer (was canceled) and I can not find link to download ...

No Yamaha-users here? Well you surely looked at this site
http://www.gxplayer.com/download/default.asp (japanes site, but if you go with the mouse over the downloads you can read those in english)
where some downloads are, but I didn't find one for XP. Maybe you can ask a person from this website?? Or write directly to Yamaha?

YEAH .. I wrote tree emails to Yamaha .. but without answere !
Is a lot versions of XGplayer ... I donwload one , which supported instalation under Win XP ... I dont know where :--((

Sad to hear. I hate bad support. If it's THIS important to you (is XG another kind of midi-standard from Yamaha, if I remember right? No alternatives for you possible?) Will have a short look now, but I hope there are people who can help you better, as I don't own any Yamaha-product besides my old clavinova...

I got XG Works myself, and it's pretty sweet! But suffice to say, Yamaha is getting pretty bad at customer support. (Not as bad as Sony - but close! 
)

... it is little curious .. I dont want XGplayer for playing MIDs .. but this player is EXCELLENT MP3 player ... I dindnt hear better MP3 player . When I listened MP3 with XGplayer , I heard better details ... details like reverb and much more ! ... I guess you're right SparX, many of the Yamaha links just don't have it anymore? I think this is the 'Last Saloon' of XG downloads and links that might be of help?

Hm, why should a player sound different on MP3 playback? There must be some EQ or other enhancement build in - which certainly isn't good.

NO . ... I instal XGplayer like DEMO , all functions was disable ... XGplayer was functionaly like MP3 player only . There are not any EQs .
Contrariwise ! Very peculiar was , volume on XGplayer direct control volume at Windows ! I dont know how are functionaly another players like WMP or Winamp ..atd ... but I think XGplayer sended sound direct to the card WITHOUT any procesing !
Difference which I heard was like difference when Im listening CD vs MP3 .... XGplayer sounded perfectly like original CD !
