going to a conservatory?

Erm any ideas? I decided to goto school. Is studying to be a 'sound engineer' a good idea? Any hope for decent incomes and financial security in like 30 years from now with such education? Or would car mechanics be a better speciality?

I would tend to agree with what the last couple of paragraphs said. I'm not familiar with the UK market but I know that competition is fierce to say the least in the states.
Everybody and their cousin that likes music and doesn't know what else to do with their lives go into audio engineering and walks away with a degree that they're not going to be able to do much with.
