Cool beans! Thank you, Steve. I wonder whether they provided downloads of the earlier concerts in the series? If so, I guess it's too late to snarf 'em now. :-)
[edit] Oh, here it is: [Please note that Symphonies 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 are no longer available to download]
Such is life. I'll just keep an eye out for the remaining two.

Well it would be I'm afraid. Although the music itself isn't copyright, the Sound Recording of the music will be (the professional performers don't play for freeluCiPHer wrote:well, it sure is possible to find the first 5 symphonies on the internet, i guess it's not even illegal to share them
Also, with some classical music it is possible that the "edition" of the sheet music is copyright, even though the music itself was composed hundreds of years ago. There has been a high profile test case involving Hyperion Records recently which may result in them paying out more than a million to a music editor.

Anyone who missed the series (and more particularly the BBC4 "Beethoven Uncovered" masterclasses) there's a chance to see the first episode again here.

The 9th is still at 64% after an hour and a half. Must be busy. It might be an idea to hold off for now (or until I get mine
)
