I would like to participate in the beta test of the digitalmusician.net plugin for long distance recording over IP.

Anyone here familiar with this, or can share experiences?

no offense but did you look to see who is supporting this (bottom of the page)...free my ass...:hihi: This is an idea of the RIAA imo...

But I have always loved the concept, but the realities are not always what the concept envisions...;)

This is how they get u, they throw you a bone and you bring it back to them.

So what? If it works as advertised, this opens up a lot of opportunities.

Anyway, the question was if anyone has any experiences with this. So, I'll give that another try...

netsound is so right...why dont you tell that same thing to many of the artists that were ripped off by the RIAA...apparently the answer to your question is no, not yet (anyhow I'm giving it a couple of bumps for yah).

However like I say the concept has been one that has intrigued me for a while. But the legal ramifications and disputes that could arise merit serious attention.
It seems too me the one that will win there is the one with the money...the RIAA.(and they have a pretty firm reputation for sneaking in fine print) That may be the reason people are not familiar with it, they dont trust it.

I know FL has the callob forum...I can't speak for it's success because I think I have logged into it 3 times...

Logic audio has a similar thing...maybe a bit more reliable since you do it between friends not fisher and fish.

Ok, I give in

Now what is this RIAA monstrosity and what have I got to do with it, not being american and only interested in recording voice-overs (copyrighted by legal educational publishers in Europe) in foreign languages by native speakers?

you know the guys that sign you. promise you the world, get yah hooked on a dream, drop you like a stone and sue you? The guys that want to take away our right to post our music on the internet.

Really though I do notice the sites have a very similar look...too similar...The RIAA are the bad guys...;)
