Re: WizooVerb W2 or Princeton Digital Stereo Room 2016?

Hey Folks,
I was all set to jump on the Princeton Digital Stereo Room 2016 group buy at $99...then the WizooVerb W2 demo came out.
I admit I am quite impressed with both, and although the Princeton Group buy make the price more attaractive, the W2 is clearly more flexible.
Has anyone else tried both demos? I'd be curious to see some comments.

the W2 demo did not impress me that much. for convolution I will stick with pristine space light and SIR. for an algorithmic reverb my preference at the mioment would be the arts acoustic reverb (if I only could afford it now..)

Hey AKJ,
I could be wrong but I dont think W2 is convolution only. Some of the presets seemed to suggest that.
Notwithstanding, its funny how personal this stuff is: though not a bad verb, I did not like Art Acosutic nearly as much as I do W2 and StereoRoom.
Deep down inside, I'm holding out for the cash to build an exact replica of the legendary Capital Studio chamber verb

I'm very impressed with W2's sound and editing capabilities. It has a really nice interface. And its latency-free but at a big CPU cost. Princeton's verb sounds incredible and is EXTREMELY cpu efficient. I'm not the type of person that really needs to tweak every single setting on a verb, and I appreciate cpu friendly effects, so I would pick Princeton.

Just downloaded the W2 demo. Was not that impressed with the algorithmic side of the plugin but some of the presets were quite nice (all the small ambience ones worked like a dream on kick drums and toms).
Btw. check the about page (click the wizoo logo). Guess who's in charge of the IR engine? Christian Knufinke!

I tried the W2 demo yesterday, maybe not the best sounding reverb, but the best IR verb I have tried, and the only one I would go for if i had the cash. My homemade IRs worked extreemly well, in it.

I'd say go for the Princeton while the group buy is running if only for the fact it's half off. This way you're definately getting the most bang for your buck out of it. It's not like the W2 is suddenly going to up in price or anything for the time being, in fact, you don't know if Wizoo will end up doing a group buy in a few months. Then if you miss out on the Princeton now then buy into the Wizoo before the Group Buy (again, ASSUMING they do one), then if you're anything like me you'd be kicking yourself in the ass repeatedly. I dunno, call me frugal...
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Anyone hear any grapevine talk about how many they've gotten into the group buy yet?

As of this morning it was 25, but at least one other claims to have signed up since then. Also the rules of the GB changed, so it's 50(+) people getting it at $99 or refunds for everyone and no plug-in. So it's risk free from this point, just need another 25 or so to make it happen.
