Have enough dosh to upgrade to mac and protools but sure if I want to. Anybody got any advice..please?

Bit of a broad question innit? I think we need more information about what you want to achieve and how you work before anyone can answer that type of provocative question.

However....Logic is for idiots :hihi:

Great now we'll have another thread full of hate.
All that hate because people make music different ways...............
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Post

What's wrong with threads full of hate?

Fair point. Am writing music to picture but have a lot of song writing to do. Thanks for responding.

If you are currently using a PC and you might go back avoid Logic. If you use lots of MIDI as apposed to Audio maybe go for steinberg over Pro-Tools and if you don't edit video get Cubase not Nuendo. I've set out 1 example there of how to decide, just alter the answers to suit your requirements.
Only considered Logic because I'm sick of walking into pro studios and finding it everywhere. I've lots of VST for sound to picture but my songs seem to be all audio! Didn't know Nuendo was for editing video!

Well if it makes thing better, I think the Parker Fly is the greatest guitar there is even though I'm a bass player.

I think you should try them all.

If you have a chance to meet some people who own them, and spend some time with the programms,
to learn a bit and see which suits your personal style of working best.
I myself use CubseSX, and energyXT and even sometimes Tracktion ;-)
depends on what I want to do.

Or get demos of the programms.

Each is capeable of the things you do.

and each is good for idiots ;-)

Since you use all of my options that makes you someone who can give me an informed comparison...please. :)
