Hi,
I have a Lexicon MPX1, i bought it second hand and it has never really sounded right.
When i bring the reverb sound back into the mix on a seperate return, (lets say for the vocals.) Once you start bringing in a reasonable amount into the mix, it almost sounds out of phase, and quite harsh.
Has any one an ideas? I have checked phases etc.
And im running unbalanced in and out.
Many thanks
James
Lexicon MPX1 Sound Issue please advise.....

Silly question first - you are running it 100% wet sound only? If you were using the presets that are Insert effects (i.e. have a mix of wet & dry) then you would very likely be introducing a nasty phase shift. Not only do you want to turn off the direct/dry sound, but you also want to maximise the wet sound to increase the signal to noise. For example, a nice Hall insert effect might have 100% dry and 6% wet. You don't need the dry, and you want to raise the wet to 100%. That way, you mix in the 6% you need and at the same time you are turning down the hiss.

Yep, it's probably the wet/dry mix...I had the same issue with my MX1 when i first got it. Here's info from their website explaining it and how to fix:
