Orchestra Plugin Suggestions for Sonar Producer?

Been using the Roland JV1080 for a while with Sonar 4 Producer - nice synth sounds and I love the Strings but the other "natural Orchestra sounds" are a bit weak.
Any suggestions? Not real familiar with Samplers - what about TASCAM GigaStudio 3 Ensemble or any other soft synth plugins that are reasonalbe?
Thanks
Late

Yeah, I use an XP-30 with the orchestral expansion and the strings are nice (from time to time), but the majority of the sounds are simply horrible.
The software synth/samplers you'll want to avoid:
-Gigastudio, as I hear it is infinitely frustrating.
-Edirol's HQ-OR Orchestral Plugin, as this one is horrible for the price they're asking for it.
The synth/samplers you'll want to look into are:
-Garritan's Personal Orchestra, because you can't beat all of these articulations and samples for the price (unless you're Emu).
-Emu Proteus X/Emulator X with the Virtuoso X expansion, as the Proteus contains all sorts of sounds (lots of them) and the Virtuoso X contains MANY articulations of each orchestral instrument (more than any other instrument/sampler for the price) and sounds wonderful, too! This is the one I'll be using in place of my Roland.
-Native Instruments Kontakt sampler.
As you can probably tell, I'm very much a fan of the Emu sound. If I were you, I'd probably go for Garritan's Personal Orchestra.

Oh, one last thing, although I don't recommend it for anyone who's not a big fan of Emu (mostly because I've only heard some sounds out of the Virtuoso module), avoid the Proteus X if you don't already own an Emu soundcard. If you want the Emulator X, you'll actually be paying a lot more for it with the Virtuoso X expansion than you would for GPO.
Hope all this info helps.

Thanks for the response - I do like my JV1080 but as you sid for Orchestra sounds it is sadly lacking -Ildon wrote:Yeah, I use an XP-30 with the orchestral expansion and the strings are nice (from time to time), but the majority of the sounds are simply horrible.

Question - is Garitan's PO simple to use? Does it at like anyother soft synth such as the TS1 that comes with the Sonar Producer? I've heard the Proteus is good and I will look into it also.
Thanks again!

I've never personally used GPO, but I did a ton of research into it. GPO *is* supposedly simple to use compared to something like Gigastudio. It runs as a VST in your host sequencer, too. You can check it out at www.garritan.com and www.soundonsound.com as SOS did a review of it you'll find useful.

GPO comes with it's own player. Once you get a handle on it, it's easy to use.AVBunyan wrote:Thanks for the response - I do like my JV1080 but as you sid for Orchestra sounds it is sadly lacking -Ildon wrote:Yeah, I use an XP-30 with the orchestral expansion and the strings are nice (from time to time), but the majority of the sounds are simply horrible.
