one possible reason (and I'm not passing any sort of judgement here) is that you are quite new round these parts. It would help if you review other people's tracks too

i listen to tunes in the cafe, but most the time i can't find anything nice to say. i'll check yours out when i get home tonight

People are lazy around here, they want direct links in each thread, they expect everyone who composes music to be able to afford personal webspace to host that music, so that these people can download it for free, whilst not contributing to the system that they themselves have put in place.
I don't checkout much music on KvR. I'll checkout Vurt and Sickle, maybe Normal every now and then, but most of the time I'm just wanting to get my own stuff heard, so its a vicious circle that we all propogate.

A good way to get feedbacks and to be known is to enter the monthly contest.
oh! and links to external web pages are likely to lose a lot of potential reviewers, me included (i don't listen to a lot of tracks from the Café these days, anyway). Direct link is a must here.
Good luck (and welcome)

I've never understood why direct links are prefered. Sickle reminds me of the two-click rule every now and then ... but why is it a rule?
The only answer I can come up with is that people here just don't value music that much. If they did, surely an extra two clicks of a mouse button wouldn't matter to them?
Pfft.. if anyone can explain it better than that, I'm ears.

I just think most people do not want to go on a treasure hunt for music when 90% of the time it's crap.
no offense to anyone.
direct links are the way to go

If most of it is crap, then leave the website. Simple enough really. The way KvR handles its music isn't the best anyway, there should be catagories.

My view is that people post here because they want to be heard, therefore they are the recipient (of feedback) rather than a supplier of music, therefore they should make it as easy as possible for people to get the tracks.
e.g. I don't post music hear because people ask me to or want to hear my stuff, I put it here because I want the feedback. make sense?

to be fair i have put links to the tracks i think people will prefer and as mentioned above
its only 2 more clicks to listen to another track, and as i cant afford webspace/designing what are people in my position supposed to do!?

Immediacy?
Sickle reminds me of the two-click rule every now and then ... but why is it a rule?
Its a rule of observed behaviour. If a page is more than two clicks away, most people wont follow it.
The only answer I can come up with is that people here just don't value music that much. If they did, surely an extra two clicks of a mouse button wouldn't matter to them?
Conversely, surely if it was at all important for you to have your music heard, then you'd make it as easy as possible.
But you might want to consider that maybe people who want to listen to music want to spend their time doing that, not hunting down the right links.
Pfft.. if anyone can explain it better than that, I'm ears.
Read up on interface design for the web et.c. That should cover a decent amount of the why of people's navigation and browsing habits/preferences/expectations.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Why leave? Downloading music isnt the sole reason people come to KVR.
