Is it possible to create (such) a complex automation pattern using Automation Clips? Can we paste data from an 'Edit Events' window to an Automation Clip? :)

Post

To the first question: Easily. Actually it can be more complex because of the ability to control tension curves between envelope points, and the ability to slide existing points to the right as you create new ones.

As for the second, not that I can see...

I don't see how you would be able to convert between the two, even if the developers wanted to put it in. You wouldn't necessarily be able to model any given curve, so you would likely be forced into some precision losses or an insane sampling rate that would probably make the automation clip inefficient.

Post

I don't see why not. Pfft, how hard can it be, for chrissakes? Automation clips support both, um, ordinary plotting of points as well as LFOs... although not at the same time (from what I can gather).

Also note that the part of the above diagram after the hold is a uhm, dynamic LFO... it would really be a pain to plot those points on the automation clip by hand.

And I don't see where the sampling rate figures in our problem.

Besides, is it not the entire purpose of Automation Clips, to provide easy visual editing of automation parameters?

Disclaimer: I am willing to accept the fact that I am not a DSP coder and hence there might be a high probability of me talking from somewhere between my buns. However, I reserve the right to do that. So piss off, bitch. :hihi:
