This is the nicest verb I've ever had.

My music sounds beautiful for it.

Feeling so emotional I had to post

I have it and love the sound...still waiting to find spots for it(it's all about the "position" control!). I always go for the Plate 140 for main tracks that need verb.

Hate to be negative amidst the love  but I don't much like the longer tails on the 2016. IMO, it excells at tighter room and small chamber and booth type sounds, though, and overall puts a nice professional "sheen" on things so I use it a lot.

I've tried to like the 2016 demo - but I still don't get it. I don't like the dramatic reduction in level. The mix control doesn't give as much control, or level, as other reverbs that have seperate Wet and Dry. Not that it's a problem, because reverb shouldn't be mixed very loud (certainly not this one), but it makes comparison with other reverbs a bit harder.

It's got a big slap delay sort of effect, which I guess is their early reflection model - but it's very big and non-adjustable. Could be useful if you are lucky. I don't like the tail at all - sproing, oing, oing, oing. The eq is constrained so it can't be set too bright or metallic. That might benefit some people who don't like bright or metallic reverbs. I like options.

Overall, I think it could be nice applied over a whole mix - but I have many other reverbs that I consider just as nice, but different.

Seems like a lot of the big name mixers these days are using princeton reverb (the pluggin one). I know dave pensado used it for Brian McKnight's vocal once.

The hardware Princeton reverbs have a lot more algorithmns than the stereo room one. Rather than just blindly following the big names, i would rather use my ears. But I would be curious to know A/ what algortithmns they use, and B/ whether the VST version of stereo room sounds anything like the real hardware.

It's all to easy to slap a brand name on a VST plugin and try to sell it for a high price.

I agree as well. I've never heard this reverb before but I would say I have my curiosities with it since I hear about it so much.

The Princeton VST is great, but a little limited. It my definative choice on main vox, but Im yet to find anything else Id use it on.

What I like about it is more the value I think it brings to instruments in a mix. It has that quality that really good reverbs have of making things sit nicely. Something to do with the ER's I guess. I just have to keep the decay short or, like greendoor alluded to, it sounds like a sporingy stompbox.

This is a side note, but to anyone who hasn't tried the Kjaerhus Classic Reverb, I recommend it. While not super realistic, it's got one of the smoothest tails I've heard in a plugin, and it's free!!! 8)

I actually have loads of reverbs. Way to many infact! I just love reverb, and Im always on the look out for new stuff.

Right now the Princeton verb does rate highly. Its just a shame it doesnt brighten up a bit. Fripp, I definately agree it does help gel a mix. It just a shame that I dont find much call for its particular brand of verb.

My advice is to give it a demo run. You'll either find its the best thing since the McFlurry, or completely useless!

Btw, OT, I recently bought an old Roland SRV330. Man, I love this reverb! So cheap as well, I definately recommend it. No digi i/o though, which is a slut.
