Vanilla Compressor will (whenever it's finally released...
... hopefully soon)

But it's got release control now, doesn't it?citizenchunk wrote:Vanilla Compressor will (whenever it's finally released...... hopefully soon)

yes, it has 4 release modes:bduffy wrote:But it's got release control now, doesn't it?citizenchunk wrote:Vanilla Compressor will (whenever it's finally released...... hopefully soon)
1) Smooth: exponential release with slight S-curve
2) Pump: a little "ruder" than the Smooth setting, not as subtle; releases most of its energy at the end of the release
3) ARC-1: an automatic variable-release setting, using the signal's peak/rms levels to determine the optimum time constant within 0.5x to 2.0x the user-defined release
4) ARC-2: similar to ARC-1, but uses the average gain reduction to determine the time constant

There ya go! Very nice compressor, that one. I look foward to the full release - will it have a GUI, by any chance?citizenchunk wrote:yes, it has 4 release modes:bduffy wrote:But it's got release control now, doesn't it?citizenchunk wrote:Vanilla Compressor will (whenever it's finally released...... hopefully soon)

I really like vanillacomp. The problem I had with it was that when I demo'd it, I saved it with my project, which then caused the inability of the project to open up. This was in Cubase SL2. I removed vanillaComp from my plugins folder and then everything was fine. I hope this bug is fixed cause I really like the sound of this compressor.citizenchunk wrote:yes, it will have a GUI. it is just about finished too. i would love to post a preview, but i must withold it for the moment.
