hey there
are there any programs wich can convert a sound into image and vice versa, but without losing any quality with that process.
i have few programs for convertion, but when i convert the sound back from bmp, it sounds like a mp3 @ 20 kbps.
i know that a full quality image will be really big, but i whould like to experiment with sound + photoshop.

I think this is because most of these programs use FFT for the conversions. There's always a compromise in sound quality during this type of process.
If you have the option to change window sizes, you'll likely find that higher sizes will preserve the pitch components with more accuracy, but at the cost of reducing precision in the time domain (e.g. drum sounds will seem smeared). Lower window sizes will do the opposite.
I find it's best to use lower window sizes for drum tracks, experimenting to find a compromise with melodic parts, and going for the highest sizes when working on pad sounds.
