motu dp 4.6 with presonus firbox not working

anyone have any info about this combination? dp 4.62 works fine on my laptop g4 with 1ghtz processor and 1gig ram directly out of mac audio . when i use the firebox, i get lots of noise and digital junk. however, when i use logic with the same computer and the firebox, it's fine.
