Coldfire Software's DistBit is a recently-completed VST damage processor. it was inspired by the Scream4 unit from Propellerhead Software's Reason. It consists of a pair of filters and a pair of multi-mode distortion units. Each unit is capable of 8 different kinds of distortion, and you can set up the overall signal routing however you want, making the DistBit a vesatile unit. Version 1.1 adds several nice MIDI features. Comes with 64 presets, freeware. Made with SynthEdit, but don't let that stop you from trying it out.

Ok I've had a chance to play with this a little now and this thing kicks! The midi really puts it over the top.

i understand your concerns, believe me. you shouldn't download really anything without having up to date antivirus protection. my thinking on the self-extracting archive is pretty simple: while the .zip format is ubiquitous, compressing to a .rar archive yields better compression, thus a smaller file which downloads a little quicker and saves some server space. however, there are still some folks out there who don't have WinRAR, and as a lazy person i can appreciate the ease of a self-extractor, so that's the format i went with. if i wanted to distribute a virus there are a LOT more effective ways to do it

anyways, some people on the SynthEdit user group asked for the uncompiled document so i put that and the skin up.:

just finished a little webpage for this plugin. got rid of the .exe format. instead you can download the plug-in in .zip, .rar, and .7z formats (take your pick
