I think that's v8 of the promo doc.

I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere that the blow out was a way of getting rid of some computers, for some reason that escapes me.

I would doubt that Logic8 will be out until at least next spring.

that's what the price has been for a while i think. i hope that it isn't a hint at logic 8 because i just bought version 7 and i don't feel like upgrading. afterall, what else can they really give us that will make it worth the price of upgrading? some insane quality compressors or limiters or beat detective or something i guess. beyond that, not much i assume.

I'm guessing we'll see Logic 8 at the AES show this fall. I think Apple has selected AES as the venue for big pro audio announcements...

This looks like an extremely bad investement. I know computer in general are not investement per se, they devaluate too rapidly for that, but I like to span the cost of ownership to 5 or at least 4 years span. This looks like a G5 bought now will be completely useless, having to run emu software even for native Mac os software, in a 1 to 2 years period. At the price they sell those things, Ouch! A good thing for Apple that musician, and artist in general, are very bad businessmen

Logic 8? my guess is october 2012, coming as freeware cause meanwhile all the world is musicmaking with Ableton Live 241 ..
