Hello,
I'm looking to find a space on the net where i could upload my songs, post some pictures, type in some text and use a paypal service for people to download my songs. Does anyone know of a website like this? where should i start?
Thanks

I'm not sure if www.audioshots.com still offers free webspace, check their site.
- many free webspace providers won't allow you to upload mp3's at all (just to prevent you from infringing someone's copyright)
- some sites, like vitaminic.com give you the option to upload your tunes and sell them - they will take some of the money you make though.
- you can always use e.g. audioshots and put up a link to paypal for people to make donations. You'll need a Premier or Business Paypal account though or people won't be able to use credit cards for that. You could also consider Bitpass (an online smallchange 'bank' - people buy virtual smallchange from them using their credit card if need be and then they can pay you with it)

thanks for the advice cptgone, i'll look into those options. Regarding Multree's reply.. yeah ideally i'd like to have my stuff hosted for free.. ie. ppl could listen to lo-fi samples of my songs, but to get the good quality ones they could use paypal to pay me, or the paypal thing could be optional. I'm just trying to explore my options since i've been hearing more and more about people ignoring the labels and selling their stuff directly to the public on their own websites.

I don't think you're getting Mully's point here- isn't it a bit of a hypocritical stance to expect somebody to host your music for free while you make money on the site?

ew: it may be a hypocritical stance, but if it's possible and legal, then why shouldnt i take advantage of it? hey it's like standing on the sidewalk on a streetsomewhere.. you can stand on the street for free and hold out your hand and get people to buy your cds from you. A lot of people may walk by but u may make some sales.. oh. and i figured that doing this on the net may be easier than on a sidewalk in aln alley somewhere

you know that the streets are built from the taxes you pay right ?
but hey... of course you CAN do it.... I just thought it sounded strange.. is all.
but maybe you wanna take a look a cafepress.com - they make CDs for you (at no cost) and sell them and you get some of the money.... it's pretty cool for small amounts

Yes I've been thinking about this 'virtual street musician' idea too. U could put a few free songs on the site, if people really like it they can donate via paypal and get acces to more songs etc.mark77 wrote:ew: it may be a hypocritical stance, but if it's possible and legal, then why shouldnt i take advantage of it? hey it's like standing on the sidewalk on a streetsomewhere.. you can stand on the street for free and hold out your hand and get people to buy your cds from you. I'd rather use my Epson R300.Mr. Tunes wrote:anyone tried this yet?

It can print on the whole disc, not just four areas.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".
