A friendly suggestion to "stereo widening effects"

Have a (red glowing, perhaps 8) ) mono check button in the bottom right corner (aka end of the chain).

Because when I play with such an effect I always want to check if it sounds good in mono as well.
I thought that maybe also a lot of people do like this.

Sure, I have a mono switch on my master track, but it's very FAR. That's the reason for this suggestion.

And also, I thought that this might not be very difficult to code. But I might also be very wrong on this one, since I don't know about programming.

And I understand if programmers don't want, for whatever reason, to have a mono button there, it's ok, just a suggestion... And I'll be applying some pressure to the host makers, as well, to make an easy accessible mono button on the master track. (What's up with Cubase? :? )

Let me know what you think about it.

p.s.1: What happened with Chunkware Orban? I think it's one of the best effects of this kind.

p.s.2: I haven't found yet a VST that applies different tone/eq/whatever to every channel. I mean something like Betabugs' Moneo, only with more/different controls to make the L and R channels a bit different -> wider.

have you tried WideBug..... we also have a bigger version of WideBug coming out soon

multree: sure, I tried it. It's very nice, indeed! Looking forward for the bigger one.

Too bad it doesn't work in Renoise, tho. I wrote about it in your forum:

p.s. there should be 'makers' at the end of the topic title, (didn't work). I'm not addressing the effects directly :hihi:

Just a suggestion / opinion. You want to check your WHOLE mix for mono compatibility. I never use the stereo widening effect on a whole mix. So, even though the effect I use have this button (Ozone) I only use that button when I have it on the mastering buss, i.e. I never use the mono check and the stereo widening on the same plugin instance.

Post

actually i'd love to have 'mono' button on just about any plug-in effect that has any kind of stereo effect...
