But I registered against my Reaktor license not my Kontakt license so that should be spare - it should not matter that Kontakt 1 or 1.5 came with Komplete - the same would be the case if I'd owned any other NI product - I'd still have a spare license for anything I didn't use to register Komplete. And I didn't even update to 1.5 anyway as I knew 2 was coming in the post.as you updated your Kontakt to Kontakt 1.5 and that again got included into your Komplete2 bundle all those products form one licence which cannot be seperated. What you could sell is the whole KOmplete2 including all the udpates. You cannot sell Kontakt on its own.
All the best,

Been trying to sell my spare license for Kontakt version 1 to someone wanting to upgrade to version 2. Just got this email from NI:

You got K2 with just one previous license "rolled in?" =o.O= I thought that was an option only for the original Komplete, and then just as a limited-time thing. (I haven't kept up with this as I can't afford it and don't really want all their products.)
To clear it up I'd recommend further email exchange or maybe a 'phone call.

i agree, something doesnt sound quite right there.
i registered komplete 2 (the limited time $500 upgrade deal) and i used my intakt licence to do the upgrade. NI had no problems with my tranferring my remaining absynth 2 and kompakt licences.

Exactly - its just like if I'd had Reaktor and Absynth 1 and used Reaktor to upgrade from - the fact that Komplete contains and upgrade to Absynth 2 would be irrelevent to whether I could sell the Absynth license - the point is it's an extra copy of the product and therefore saleable. This is so unfair - it means the money I paid for Kontakt is bascally down the drain.ugo wrote:i agree, something doesnt sound quite right there.

I agree, they talking out their arse. If you didn't use Kontakt to buy Komplete 2, then it is still sellable. Don't people use their common sense anymore?

Is that a part of the Komplete 2 package?Andrew Vernon wrote:Don't people use their common sense anymore?

Well I've sent another email saying they are mistaken. If I get no joy then I'll phone. At least I know I'm not the one at fault here

what it spounds like to me is you upgraded the version of kontact that is included in your package deal and not the one you already had.

there's strength in numbers....I bet a few polite emails from other NI users might help as long as they are written with respect....that of course is up to you, and no one should send an email without your consent....maybe even a form email we all send....just a suggestion for "if all else fails" I know I'd be willing to speak up for you, though I only have B4...aMUSEd wrote:Well I've sent another email saying they are mistaken. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

If they say you got your Komplete2 off of Kontakt, then you should be able to sell your Reaktor licence (if you only used 1 product to register up from) Reaktor will probably get you more money anyway

The upgrade from 1.5 that was in Komplete to 2 came automatically but of course it was for the one in the package. But I had an extra copy I had not upgraded and they should know full well that I did not choose to use that license to purchase Komplete - I used Reaktor (they do give you the choice). So it should by rights be mine to sell.ATS wrote:what it spounds like to me is you upgraded the version of kontact that is included in your package deal and not the one you already had.

Yes by rights that should be the case. At the moment they seem to be saying I used my Reaktor license to register/purchase Komplete, but because Komplete contained an upgrade to Kontakt which I already had they are subsuming that into the package too - that is grossly unfair. I hope they are just making a mistake here.op519 wrote:If they say you got your Komplete2 off of Kontakt, then you should be able to sell your Reaktor licence (if you only used 1 product to register up from) Reaktor will probably get you more money anyway
