Amplitube 2 vs. GTR

Hey Squids,
I don't like posting about competing products, but as I'm sure you know, a plug-in competitor is releasing (surprise) their own amp simulation program. It's called GTR...
I just hope the IK guys will "fine-tune" Amplitube 2, so that it will blow that other plug-in effects company's effects out of the water!! That other company seems to have a big name producer (I don't know him though) unofficially endorsing it.
It would be a waste if they released a less realistic amp plug-in at the same time as their competition...I'd rather buy IK all the way!

There are so many plugins that it is inevitable that people will choose their favorite. I have PodXT as well as Amplitube and they each have their strengths and weaknesses...

FYI the price of the other company's product will go as high as $1,200 if you use TDM.

I'm guessing we will get AT2 for a lot less than that, through the upgrade price.

I'm sure it won't be a cent over $999!!!harmony gardens wrote:I'm guessing we will get AT2 for a lot less than that, through the upgrade price.

Amplitube 2 is much less than that. But, will sound better for sure (and look better). I do like products from that company for other things though but this one, I am sorry, is one of IK's best things they've ever had. AT2 will be unmatched in software for amp and stomp boxes. Just my opinion of course.

Didn't we hear you sing the same song about a year a go?

Squids,
Believe me, I was one of the first people on the "grassroots Sampletank bandwagon"! When I saw the first Sampletank ad in a mag, I called Sweetwater, and none of the sales reps even knew about it yet. I told them that the "software workstation" or ROMpler thing was exactly what I needed. (true story...my sales rep will confirm it!)
Anyway, after trying Sampletank 1 Free, then buying Sampletank 1 L, buying Sonic Synth 1, then upgrading to Sampletank 2 XL, and wanting EVERYTHING IK/eSoundz, I look with a new heightened anticipation for the release of Amplitube 2!!!
Squids...I truly respect your opinion and value it, thank you!
Peace,
Walker

Thanks Walker. We always appreciate hearing people say nice things... who wouldn't?
To clarify (because I get in trouble sometimes) you probably meant IK/Sonic Reality. I know it is darn confusing because I am affiliated with this, that and the other but Sonic Reality is a sound developer and esoundz is an online soundware retail outlet. The sales activity on that site supports us being able to have this forum and because it does so well I can justify to all of my associates how it even makes business sense for me to spend as much time as I do here... even though secretly I also just enjoy it. shhhhhhh.

I suspect one of the other strongest things about AT2 is that it won't use PACE.
And now that BFD 1.5 has appeared this is now officially my most longed-for upgrade...

The one thing that interests me about GTR , is the fact that it's two plugins. That and how clean the effects lay out within that plugin. I think the effects in amplitube 2 would be great on not only guitar but having to load the whole plugin for that would be hard on cpu. Any chance a separate effects plug like waves have done?
As for BFD 1.5, it's in public beta now for download for registered users .
